Dr. Charles J.J. Jackson, III and Minister Alaine Jackson
We are glad that you are visiting our website! If you are in the Upstate of South Carolina, we would love to have you visit our sanctuary in Spartanburg.
Recently our motto has changed to, "Not just church... But church Unusual." God does unusual things through our ministry. When we look at the life of Jesus, there was nothing usual about the miracles He performed. The Bible says in John 14:12, greater works shall we do...
As a church in the 21st century, our aim is not to mimic other ministries. There is nothing wrong with being mentored by someone else, however there comes a time when we must allow God to develop us uniquely. We are not restricted by an ecclesiastical order of worship, and we permit God to make directives in worship. We have witnessed God's healing power in the midst of worship, and we are not afraid to be different. God is raising a generation of men and women who are committed to pleasing Him. And, in His will, we cross racial, gender and denominational boundaries.
The Bible declares that we are a peculiar people and Cornerstone is an unusual ministry. Some might say we have lost our identity as Baptist; however, loosing identity through cross culture and non-denominational fellowship is no more a factor than loosing ethnicity by working in a mixed society. God did not call us to denominationalism.
God has called us to, "Go ye therefore teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, son and Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you, and lo, I am with you always even unto the end of the earth... "
In carrying out the great commission at Cornerstone we recognize that God moves through us in unusual ways. It is our prayer and heartfelt desire that each of you will continue to walk in victory and remember, "The joy of the Lord is your strength."
